Spiderman 3 Continues To Top Weekly GameFly Requests

This week's top rental charts from U.S. game rental company GameFly, representing the most requested games for the week ending May 11, highlight both to-be-released and already released games in a unique demand-specific chart. Activision's multiplatform adaptation of the recently released Spiderman 3 feature film continued to be the most requested title by GameFly subscribers, with versions of the game accounting for three spots in this week's top ten all-platform chart, including the top position. The second most requested title for the week was Electronic Arts' Xbox 360 port of Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars, while the third spot belonged to the upcoming shooter Shadowrun. Crackdown, which this week received a significant downloadable upgrade, was the fifth most requested Xbox 360 title for the week. Nintendo Wii 1. Mario Party 8 (Nintendo), 2. Super Paper Mario (Nintendo), 3. Spiderman 3 (Activision), 4. Heatseeker (Codemasters) 5. Resident Evil 4 (Capcom) After numerous weeks in the top spot, Nintendo's Super Paper Mario resigned its throne to the upcoming Mario Party 8, which climbed several spots from last week to take the top position on the weekly chart. The recently confirmed Wii version of Resident Evil 4 from Capcom capped off the week's top five Wii requests, indicating growing enthusiasm for the upcoming motion sensitive port. PlayStation 3 1. Spiderman 3 (Activision), 2. Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End (Buena Vista Games) 3. Saints Row (THQ), 4.F.E.A.R. (Vivendi), 5. Transformers: The Game (Activision). Spiderman 3 continued to hold onto the top spot among PlayStation 3 requests for the week. The most interesting, arguably troubling detail on the PS3 chart was THQ's Saints Row, which ranked as the third most requested title for the month. THQ recently announced that the PS3 version of the game was canceled, and that resources for the project have been rolled into the development of the title's upcoming sequel. PlayStation 2 1. Spiderman 3 (Activision), 2. God of War II (Sony), 3. Dawn of Mana (Square Enix), 4. Odin Sphere (Atlus), 5. Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End (Buena Vista Games). Spiderman 3 again topped all other PlayStation 2 requests for the week, followed by Sony's mythological God of War II. The week also saw a surge in popularity for Square Enix's upcoming Dawn of Mana, which took the console's third spot for the week. Xbox 1. Halo 2 (Microsoft), 2. Ninja Gaiden Black (Tecmo), 3. Scarface: The World Is Yours (Vivendi), 4. Family Guy - Video Game! (Take Two) 5. Call of Duty 3 (Activision). Microsoft's Halo 2 remained tops among Xbox requests for the week, followed by Tecmo's remixed action epic Ninja Gaiden Black. Interestingly, Take Two's Family Guy - Video Game!, a title largely panned by critics, ranked as the fourth top requested Xbox title for the week. GameCube 1. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (Nintendo), 2. Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness (Nintendo), 3. Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (Nintendo), 4. Mario Party 7 (Nintendo), 5. Mario Superstar Baseball (Nintendo). Once again, all of the top requested titles for the GameCube were first party releases, a testament to Nintendo's status as a highly regarded first party developer and publisher. The request chart was again topped by The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, while last week's second most requested title, Mario Party 7, fell a pair of spots to take fourth. Nintendo DS 1. Pokemon Diamond (Nintendo), 2. Pokemon Pearl (Nintendo), 3. Naruto: Ninja Council 3 (D3P), 4. Spiderman 3 (Activision), 5. Diddy Kong Racing DS (Nintendo). The Nintendo DS chart remained dominated by the recent releases Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, which again took the chart's top two positions for the week. Activision's Spiderman 3 fell a spot from last week to take third, while Naruto: Ninja Council 3 claimed the week's second spot. Game Boy Advance 1. Pokemon Emerald (Nintendo), 2. Pokemon Fire Red (Nintendo), 3. Pokemon: Leaf Green (Nintendo), 4. Spiderman 3 (Activision), 5. Pokemon: Sapphire (Nintendo). The Game Boy Advance chart remained more or less unchanged from last week, with Pokemon releases still controlling the charts. Pokemon releases accounted for four of the five spots on the handheld's chart, with Pokemon Emerald again taking the top spot for the week. The only change from last week was found in the fifth position, where Pokemon: Sapphire replaced Pokemon: Ruby, which fell to seventh. PlayStation Portable 1. 300: March to Glory (Eidos), 2. Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters (Sony) 3. Driver 76 (Ubisoft), 4. Killzone: Liberation (Sony), 5. Spiderman 3 (Activision). Lastly, PSP requests were once again topped by Eidos' movie adaptation of 300, a game that has continued to rank at the top of the portable's chart for the last several weeks in a row. Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters took the week's second spot on the PSP chart, while Spiderman 3 remained webbed into the chart's fifth position.
