Super Mario Collection Tops Japanese Charts, Medal of Honor Makes Top 10

In a plentiful week for new releases in Japan, Nintendo's Super Mario All-Stars Limited Edition topped the sales charts, and EA's Medal of Honor made its debut in the top 10.

In a plentiful week for new releases in Japan, Nintendo's Super Mario All-Stars Limited Edition topped the sales charts, knocking long-time chart leader Pokemon Black/White to number two, reports tracking firm Media Create. Super Mario All-Stars Limited Edition, a collection of classic Mario games celebrating the franchise's 25th anniversary, sold 307,755 units for the week ended October 24. Namco Bandai's anime based fighter Naruto Shippuden: Narutimate Storm 2 debuted at number three, followed by Platinum Games and Sega's action shooter Vanquish at number four with 48,318 units sold. EA had two titles debut in the top 10 this week, including its modern military shooter Medal of Honor at number six with 25,365 units sold, and FIFA 11, which debuted at number nine. The PlayStation Move based Beat Sketch!, which allows players to draw, paint, and manipulate audio samples using Sony's motion controller, launched at number eight. Titles slipping from the top 10 this week include Kingdom Hearts Re:coded, Red Dead Redemption, and Gekijouban Macross F: Itsuwarino Utahime - Hybrid Pack.
