With no major releases last week in the U.K., Nintendo’s Wii Fit commanded the country’s platform-specific sales charts for yet another week, marking the seventh consecutive week that the exercise game has maintained its lead, according to research firm Chart-Track. But week-over-week, unit sales for Wii Fit dropped 26 percent. Nevertheless, the game has reached the number one weekly sales spot a total of sixteen times on the multiplatform charts, which lump together all SKUs of the same title. Chart-Track said that the current record holder for most weeks at the top of the charts is Who Wants to be a Millionaire from Eidos, which was able to top the charts for 18 weeks. With over 18.22 million units of Wii Fit sold globally, it would appear that Nintendo’s health game should be able to become the new U.K. record holder in the weeks to come. The separate platform-specific rankings are largely a reshuffle of the prior week, with Mario Kart Wii, Fifa 09 for Xbox 360, and Professor Layton and the Curious Village for DS among the games that were able to climb a few slots in the top ten. Falling off the list from last week were Killzone 2 for PS3, which dropped from nine last week to 14, and the PS3 version of Activision Blizzard’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine, which dropped from six to 11. Below are the unit sales rankings for individual platforms for the week ended May 16:
