Gamevil, a leading mobile game company based in South Korea, continues its buying spree with the full acquisition of Monster Warlord developer Everple. This is the latest in a string of Gamevil acquisitions this year, signaling a consolidation trend among Korean mobile game developers. Last month, Gamevil acquired com2us, a substantial deal that combined two of the country's biggest mobile game companies. Gamevil, known for titles including Zenonia and Baseball Superstars, had already made equity investments in Everple this year. Now Gamevil owns 100 percent of the company. Everple CEOs Jungoo Park and Ilgyu Song had actually worked at Gamevil before leaving to found their own company. Gamevil also unveiled exactly how Monster Warlord is doing financially. The social RPG has over 10 million global downloads, ranks in the Top 50 Grossing Google Play titles in over 20 countries, and since it launched 16 months ago has generated over $16 million to date. Everple generates an annual profit of $3 million. Gamevil didn't reveal the amount of the acquisition.
