Lyon Game, a not-for-profit organization devoted to helping French game developers with financial advice and asset management, today announced the list of developer attendees for this year's bi-annual Game Connection event, being held December 5-7 in Lyon, France. Game Connection, described by Lyon Game as a "strictly business convention," operates by placing a large number of game developers inside subdued, quiet booths, and organizing meetings with a good number of publisher representatives. "We are far away from the loud and crowded shows like E3 or Tokyo Game Show," says the event's website. "The industry needs a quite place in which professionals can meet the right people." Game Connection happens twice a year; first in March during the Game Developers Conference, as Gamasutra reported on earlier this year, and in December in France. This year, the event has attracted 87 developers and 67 publishers, a slight increase over last year's attendance. "The French numbers have stayed about the same," Lyon Game representative Jennifer Orvik told Gamasutra via a phone call, "though we're expecting a pretty dramatic increase at the next Game Developers Conference." Among the higher profile developers disclosed today are Death Jr. developer Backbone Entertainment/Foundation 9, Worms series developer Team 17, and Alien Hominid creator The Behemoth, who are likely showing off the four-player adventure previewed at Comic-Con International 2005. Other notables include Arkane Studios, Eutechnyx, Innerloop, Quantic Dream, Rebellion, Sumo Digital, Visual Science, and Widescreen Games.
