The Canadian Game Conference has announced a call for papers to present at its 2011 conference, taking place May 19 and 20 at the Vancouver Convention Centre in British Columbia. The conference advisory board is looking for papers addressing topics including new business models, rapid game development, alternative distribution models, social, portable and mobile games, as well as general game development stories from professionals and students. Submissions can only be made electronically on the conference web site and are due by midnight on January 25, 2011. After submission, papers will be evaluated for depth, relevance and interest by a panel of judges, and accepted authors will be notified by March 10, 2011. Accepted papers will be presented in 25 or 60 minutes lecture, panel and roundtable sessions at the conference. First announced in October, Rebbot Communications' Canadian Game Conference will debut next year alongside the Canadian Game Awards and will include a "Best of GDC" selection of speakers and content. The show serves as a replacement for the former GDC Canada event, which will no longer be taking place.
