The sales of 3D tools are expected to quadruple, according to a new study from Jon Peddie and Associates.
The study projects that sales of 3D software packages, including professional, prosumer, and plug-in products, will increase from less than 500,000 units in 2000 to more than 2 million units by 2005. “3D tool vendors are all gearing up for increased demand for 3D on the Web,” says the report’s author, “We feel this will be a major driving force in all segments of the 3D market over the next five years as online gaming and e-commerce continue to grow dramatically.”
