The annual International Mobile Gaming Awards (IMGA) is now accepting entries for its upcoming 2011 event highlighting pioneering interactive works for mobile platforms. Now in its seventh year, the IMGA is open to all mobile developers worldwide. IMGA organizers are currently accepting nominations in six categories: Excellence in Design, Excellence in Gameplay, Best Casual Game, Best Real World Game, Most Innovative Game and Best Sports Game. App Store developer Illusion Labs took home the Grand Prix award at last year's IMGA with its puzzler Labyrinth 2. Previous IMGA winners include Mobigame's Edge, Secret Exit's Zen Bound, and Firemint's Real Racing. "The 7th IMGA's promise to be the most exciting yet," said Maarten Noyons, managing director of the IMGA. "We've made some substantial changes by expanding the categories, including more public voting and we've completely redesigned the IMGA website with more news and features as well as much better social media integration." He added: "We're also going to be introducing a series of free online IMGA webinars from mobile gaming experts as we head towards final awards." IMGA finalists will be announced on January 17th. Winners will be honored at an awards ceremony on Thursday, February 17, 2011, at the GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
