Torrance-based publisher Aksys Games has announced its plans to bring Sonic Powered's multiplayer action RPG, From the Abyss, to North America in the fourth quarter of 2008, following its release in Japan in January.
Torrance-based Aksys Games has announced its plans to publish Sonic Powered's multiplayer action RPG, From the Abyss, in North America in Q4 2008. Previously released in Japan in January 2008, From the Abyss randomly generates a unique world, offering a new experience with each playthrough. Players can also customize their characters with distributable skill points and special techniques that can be mimicked after capturing enemy souls. From the Abyss' cooperative mode allows two players to work together to defeat the Dark Lord of the Abyss. As the Japanese release did not include any online features, the cooperative mode will presumably be limited to local play. “From the Abyss can be enjoyed by people who are new to the action RPG genre but challenging enough for experienced players alike”, said Nobara Ogawa, Project Lead, Aksys Games. “Regardless of your skill level, you’ll find yourself enthralled in the abyss.”
