AMD has announced a net income of nearly $178 million for the quarter ended Dec. 31, 2000.
Net income for the period amounted to $0.53 per diluted share with an increase in total company sales of 21 percent over the same period in 1999. Annual sales for 2000 set a new record at over $4.6 billion, 63 percent higher than 1999. Results for 2000 included a one-time net gain of $189.2 million from the sale of the company's voice communications business (Legerity) and the retirement of senior secured notes.
