Representatives from electronics manufacturer Apex Digital have confirmed that the company will be unveiling its own PC game console, named the ApeXtreme, at CES tomorrow. The machine will debut in the spring and sell for a $399 suggested retail price, with a lower spec version selling for $299. The ApeXtreme will include PC components from Taipei, Taiwan, chip maker Via Technologies as well as “drop and play” software from Digital Interactive Systems that will negate the need for installing software. The console will run a version of Microsoft's Windows XP operating system and uses a 1.2-GHz C3 processor. The company is quoting a figure of 2,000 compatible games at launch.
