Arius3D Inc. announced that color point-cloud data obtained from the company's Foundation system can now be used in INUS Technology's RapidForm2000. Arius3D is a content creation company that captures data at near microscopic levels, resulting in photo-realistic, 3D color images. Arius3D’s Foundation is a proprietary technology that simultaneously captures accurate geometry and true color from real-world objects. The results are unaffected by the light in the room, allowing creative and application teams to use the data without time consuming, expensive manual manipulation. Data captured from 3D color point clouds contains all of the information required for creating workflows for rapidly building content in any 3D application. "The accuracy and detail obtained from Foundation scans is very impressive," said Seockhoon Bae, chief executive officer of INUS Technology, Inc. "The initial color information obtained from the scanning stage is thoroughly preserved when various modeling processes are applied to the original model. Also, users can add color design directly to the colored 3D point set with RapidForm's real-time 3D painting tool, just as they would for 2D image data using an image editing tool."
