Opinion: How will Project 2025 impact game developers?
The Heritage Foundation's manifesto for the possible next administration could do great harm to many, including large portions of the game development community.
The Art Institute of Los Angeles received approval to offer a Bachelor of Science degree program in Game Art & Design beginning in October 2001.
The program will encompass skills like modeling, 3D animation and character animation. Students will also receive instruction in art history and the humanities, and will receive guidance as to the social responsibility they hold in developing new approaches to computer games. As part of the new program introduction, the school plans to offer a series of 10 scholarships ranging from $2,000 to $20,000, for the upcoming fall quarter beginning October 1, 2001. The scholarship competition is open to all applicants with a high school diploma and interest in joining the program, and has a deadline for application of September 17, 2001. Information regarding the scholarships may be obtained by calling The Art Institute of Los Angeles at 310-752-4700.
