The week after Christmas and the last stretch of 2005 saw a couple of older favorites return to the Australian video game retail charts: Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas came back strong onto #5 on the charts. Also returning is Ricky Ponting International Cricket 05, which had fallen mostly off the charts during the holiday season. The #1 game and winner in general was Need for Speed: Most Wanted, which took the top spot in its PS2 incarnation, moved up to #7 as an Xbox title, and saw the debut of the PSP version of the game on the charts as well. WWE SmackDown! vs. Raw 06 and Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories moved up as well, to #2 and #3 respectively. Finally, all three peripheral based games (Buzz: The Music Quiz, EyeToy: Play 3, and SingStar 80s) slipped slightly, but they're all still on the chart, so the bloom isn't necessarily off the rose yet. A disappearance for any of them on next week's chart might be a greater sign of bigger changes on the chart.
