The Australian Federal Government has funded the creation of a book and associated video game helping children under the age of 12 cope with divorce and parental separation. Developed by Brisbane's Boystown community counseling service, the game will be distributed for free through Australia's Department of Human Services. "What these resources are trying to do is talk to kids in their own language and let kids understand it's not their fault mum and dad are breaking up. Their mum and dad still love them," said Boystown general manager Wendy Protheroe in an interview with ABC News. Human Services Minister Tanya Plibersek adds: "It provides an opportunity for parents to sit with children and go through the games and go through the activity book and have the discussions that are naturally prompted by doing these activities is very important as well."
