In another much-requested addition, OS 4.0 will give users the ability to sort downloaded applications in customizable subfolders." - Top-Grossing Game Apps: The Sims 3 WA, Real Racing HD Head Chart Results "EA's The Sims 3 expansion World Adventures takes top honors in the iPhone charts in its first week of release, as Real Racing HD and Scrabble head sales for the iPad." - Ngmoco Launches iPad-Exclusive GodFinger "GodFinger is a free-to-play simulation title that gives players control over a planet and its primitive inhabitants, with the goal being to cultivate the planet's surface and establish a working economy for its people." - Apple Announces 'Game Center' Social Network For iPhone "Apple is increasing its focus on gamers with the upcoming 'Game Center,' a social gaming network that includes automatic matchmaking, achievements, leaderboards and other features." - Game Creation Toolkit Sketch Nation Shooter Released in App Store "Sketch Nation Shooter is a feature-rich game development toolkit that allows players to build and customize their own vertically scrolling shooters using real-world sketches." - Top-Selling Paid Game Apps: The Simpsons Arcade, Real Racing HD Lead Charts "EA's The Simpsons Arcade heads iPhone sales following a drop in price to 99 cents, while Real Racing HD and Scrabble lead the iPad charts." - Capcom's Retro Platformer Dark Void Zero Coming to iPhone "Originally released as a DSiWare exclusive, Dark Void Zero condenses the 3D jetpacking action of its console parent title into a 2D sidescrolling platformer that mimics the audio and visual quality of an 8-bit NES game." - Report: Games Comprise Over One-Third of iPad Apps "Of the 2,385 iPad-exclusive applications released as of April 6th, 833 titles (35 percent) are games. The App Store's second-largest iPad application category, 'Entertainment,' includes 260 apps (11 percent)." - Zits & Giggles Developer Strikes Back at App Store with Super Meat Boy Handheld "Following a GDC rant in which he likened the App Store to Tiger's LCD handheld games, indie developer Tommy Refenes' $400 joke app Zits & Giggles was removed from Apple's online store.
