Following the company's recently reported expansion into Europe, Bethesda Softworks parent company ZeniMax has announced that it has founded ZeniMax Asia, a new Tokyo-based subsidiary to publish both its own titles and others throughout Asia. The new division is to be headed by general manager Tetsu Takahashi, and is currently slated to bring Star Trek: Conquest, Star Trek: Legacy, and Fallout 3 to the region from its own slate, as well as 2K's Major League Baseball 2K8 and both the PS2 and Xbox 360 versions of Rockstar's Bully. Japan based publisher Spike has been amongst the local operations previously publishing Bethesda games in the region, including July 2007 of its hit RPG The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. ZeniMax says it will continue to work with "strategic Asian distribution partners." Said ZeniMax CEO Robert Altman, “Establishing operations in Asia is very important to us as we continue to expand our presence in markets outside of North America. In addition to ZeniMax Europe Ltd., our direct relationships throughout Asia allow us to bring exciting titles like Fallout 3 to gamers across the globe.”
