BreakAway, a developer of game-based technology solutions for training, experimentation and decision-making analysis, has announced they are to to demonstrate straining tool Pulse!! and Incident Commander for a Congressional Caucus on Modeling and Simulation. Pulse!! is a game-based technology intended allow students and medical professionals a virtual tool to practice “decision-making protocol and clinical skills” on PCs in a virtual hospital setting, and was developed in conjunction with Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi as part of its medical school training curriculum. BreakAway has also announced it is using the Pulse!! engine to create a dental implant training simulation with the Medical College of Georgia. Incident Commander is the current version of BreakAway’s training tool for first responders. The tool has been distributed by the U.S. Justice Department to more than 30,000 public safety authorities, state and regional authorities around the United States. BreakAway has also announced that the new release allows users to “set scenarios for tabletop and other homeland security training in actual settings to allow emergency responders to simulate response to natural disasters or acts of terrorism.”
