At the end of his talk at the GDC today, Katsuya Eguchi, creator of the Animal Crossing series for Nintendo EAD, revealed that the company would be creating a version of the game for the Nintendo Revolution, specifically noting how the game could be expanded from the portable experience. "It's a fun challenge to think of how to design when there's a new interface involved," said Eguchi. "Our new challenge is to port the game to Revolution, redesigning back from a portable format to a home console." Here, he was referencing earlier in the talk when he discussed bringing a Gamecube game to the DS, and specifically mentioned that it would be the DS experience which would translate to the Revolution, indicating that the game will likely make full use of not only the new interface, but whatever network connection Nintendo ships with the new console. Gamasutra will have further information on Eguchi's lecture in the near future.
