Capcom Employs XLOC Localization Tools For Dark Void

Publisher Capcom brought Airtight Games' Dark Void to seven languages on top of its original English with the help of XLOC localization tools, says a statement from the two companies.

Publisher Capcom brought Airtight Games' Dark Void to seven languages on top of its original English, on three platforms, with the help of XLOC localization software, says tool developer XLOC. In a statement, XLOC said its team worked with Capcom to complete the game's localization, in addition to providing the underlying toolset. "Capcom's continuous success can be, in part, accredited to its persistence on reaching mature audiences globally," said XLOC co-founder Stephanie O'Malley Deming. "Our team has assisted Capcom with the complex task of localizing this title, and we are thrilled that our solution allowed them to release on multiple consoles and numerous languages concurrently." XLOC's localization tools, currently in version 3.0, include asset management, version synchronization, real-time updating, and other features aimed at simultaneously completing multiple translations of a game. The company says its software was also used in the making of numerous Call of Duty games, NBA 2K9, Quake 4, and others. Dark Void ships today for Xbox 360, PC, and PlayStation 3 in English, French, Italian, Portuguese, German, Spanish, Czech, and Russian.
