Publisher and developer Capcom has promoted Mark Beaumont to chief operating officer for Capcom Entertainment in North America and Europe, effective as of April 1. He will maintain his position on the Capcom board of directors. Prior to Capcom, Beaumont picked up decades of experience working with the video game industry, taking on marketing to lead publishing roles at companies such as Atari, Activision, and Psygnosis. Beaumont joined Capcom Entertainment in 2005 as senior vice president before he was promoted in 2007 to executive vice president and officer. His duties included heading the consumer software publishing business in North and South America, as well as Europe. In addition to his previous responsibilities, as Capcom’s new COO, Beaumont will oversee the growth and management of the company’s western-focused development efforts and its pan-western licensing activities. "Since joining Capcom in 2005, Mark has been the driving force behind the company's improved performance, resulting in an overall revenue growth of 10% in the US and 20% in Europe," said Hiroshi Tobisawa, Capcom Entertainment president and CEO. "This deserved promotion recognizes his dedication and commitment to Capcom."
