Social game company Cie Games announced a partnership with NASCAR and the International Speedway Corporation to feature the racing organization's brand and drivers in Car Town. Launched on Facebook in August 2010, Car Town has almost 8 million monthly players, 46 percent of which play once every three days, and 80 percent of which are 34 years old or younger. Cie frequently partners with real world car makers like Toyota and Chevrolet to feature their automobiles in the game. With this promotion, Car Town players will be able to race in a virtual Daytona International Speedway, assemble a pit crew, build a stock car (or picking cars from famous racers like Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and Kyle Busch), and select drivers from teams like Richard Petty Motorsports and Michael Waltrip Racing. Cie says it hopes to "give millions of racing enthusiasts an entirely new way to experience auto racing", while Nascar believes this promotion will help extend the popularity of NASCAR and stock car racing to "a new and younger generation of fans in Car Town". "NASCAR is a great organization with a rich history and a loyal fan base," says Cie CEO and president Justin Choi. "This partnership brings together social gaming and stock car racing and offers NASCAR fans a new way to interact with their favorite teams and drivers. We're very proud and excited to be working with NASCAR."
