Codemasters (Colin McRae: Dirt, Overlord) have announced a new Wii title, Emergency Mayhem, which combines driving sequences with mini-games as players are tasked with heading an emergency services team in an accident-prone city. Players control police, fire service or paramedics as they tackle emergency situations in the city across over 30 timed missions, rescuing people from burning buildings, bombs and other crises. However, Codemasters highlight "decidedly slapstick" emergencies in this title, featuring out-of-control monkeys and bouncing prison escapees back into custody with a trampoline. The game employs the Wii's motion controls to let players perform CPR, operate a fire hose and more. The emergencies are spread across eight different districts, and, driving a fire truck, ambulance or police car, players can find shortcuts, such as making use of underground railways and sewers, to reach the situation on time. Codemasters says it will launch Emergency Mayhem exclusively for Wii in the second quarter of 2007.
