Edinburgh-based game technology company Codeplay Software will launch its new Sieve Scaleable Programming SystemC at the Multi-Core Expo in Santa Clara, California from 21st to 23rd March 2006. Aimed at users of multi-core processing architectures, including next-gen video game creators, Sieve will transform non-scaleable C/C++ software into scaleable C/C++ software, allowing software developers to exploit the multi-core processing chips now being brought to market. Sieve is designed to meet the requirements of software scalability and will work with networks, multi-core processors, direct-memory-access systems and with multiple memory spaces. The Sieve Scaleable Programming System is based on Codeplay's patented compiler technology. Codeplay was founded by Andrew Richards in 1999 to bring new game development technology to market. Andrew was a game developer who saw a need for development tools that could keep pace with advancements in processor technology. Since December 2000, Codeplay has been backed by Jez San, the founder of game company Argonaut and Argonaut Risc Cores. Andrew Richards, Managing Director of Codeplay, said "I am delighted to have this chance to launch Sieve at the world's first dedicated Multi-Core Conference. Sieve will help in the rapid exploitation of the power of multi-core processors for existing software." Richards will be demonstrating Sieve at Codeplay's stand throughout the Expo.
