D3Publisher has announced that it will be bringing Onechanbara: Bikini Zombie Slayers, the latest in its cult hit budget PlayStation 2 import franchise, exclusively to the Wii in North America, expected to be released in early 2009. Developed by Japan-based studio Tamsoft, D3P says the game sees main character Aya "out to find the meaning of her Imichi ancestors, even if it leads to the answer she does not wish for." The publisher promises co-op gameplay as either Aya or her sister Saki, as players use the Wii's unique motion controls "by slashing, swinging and thrusting into zombie enemy hordes." The game, which will debut at the forthcoming E3 Expo, features a "Rage Mode and gain more power and agility to destroy enemies faster and deadlier." Said D3P VP and COO Yoji Takenaka, “Onechanbara perfectly blends the thrill and excitement of a zombie-filled horror flick with a pair of sisters that pack a powerful sword behind impeccable beauty. Gamers will be delighted that a lot of features have been included to make a fun and easy to pick-up and play title at a great price.”
