Discreet announced inferno 5, flint 8 and flame 8, its compositing and visual effects tools. Enhancements to the three tools include:

  • Mixed resolution support, to give artists the ability to create and manage effects by freely combining, mixing and matching images of different size, aspect ratio and color depth.

    • A unified animation channel for more easily creating animated effects.

    • Support for distributed background rendering capabilities across multiple distributed systems.

    • Support the Kaydara FBX file format. No release date or pricing information was provided by Discreet.
