Disney Interactive Media Group president Steve Wadsworth will deliver a keynote address at next year's DICE Summit in Las Vegas, event organizers announced today. Disney Interactive Media Group is the division of Disney formed last year to centralize the entertainment giant's Internet Group and Interactive Studios, the latter of which handles Disney's video game development and publishing capabilities. "Steve Wadsworth is the at the helm of Disney’s interactive experiences for all video games, online and mobile devices -- from the Epic Mickey game to the Marvel acquisition to the success of Club Penguin as well as his views on the future of connectivity," said Joseph Olin, president of DICE owner the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences, in a statement. "We look forward to hearing his thoughts on this rapidly changing industry." Wadsworth's background is not with Disney's game business, but with its internet ventures, with which he has been involved in some capacity since 1995, after first joining Disney in 1993. He became head of internet operations in 1999. Olin said that during his DICE address Wadsworth will "share his insights, challenges and successes on how he negotiates with an audience that is always in a state of flux looking for the next thing in entertainment." DICE takes place February 17 to 19, 2010, at the Red Rock Casino in Las Vegas.
