The Education Arcade, a event held by the MIT Comparative Media Studies department in conjunction with the Electronic Entertainment Exposition, will return for its second year at E3 2005. The conference will cover all aspects of education-related games, including elementary school usage, university research, and the business opportunities available in educational gaming. The list of speakers and topics for the 2005 Education Arcade has been announced, and includes Jim Marggraff of LeapFrog Enterprises, Deb Briggs of Firaxis with "Case Studies: Civilization," Kim Mulkey of BellSouth Foundation and Patrik Bergman of Malmo University with "Business Opportunities and Next Steps," Idit Caperton of MaMa Media and Carrie Heeter of Michigan State University with "Gender and Diversity," Barry Joseph of Global Kids and Yasmin Kafai of UCLA with "Students Making Games," and Guther Kress of University of London with "Emerging Pedagogies." The 2005 conference will be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center from May 15 to May 17, in the days leading up to E3.
