Peter Molyneux, founder of Lionhead Studios, has been promoted to European creative director for Microsoft Game Studios, Lionhead's parent group within owner Microsoft. The move, which took place in March, sees the Black & White and Fable designer become responsible for overseeing both first- and third-party projects developed for Microsoft out of Europe, including those by fellow UK-based Microsoft studio Rare. Molyneux will retain his role as head of studio at Lionhead, which he founded in 1997. The announcement came after Molyneux posted several teasers to his recently-created Twitter account. After the news broke, he followed it up by explaining, "Just to be clear I will still be as involved with the design of Lionhead games as [I] ever was." This week, Molyneux generated buzz with his demo of Milo, software featuring an AI boy controlled by Microsoft's NATAL sensor peripheral; the project is the evolution of Lionhead's long-running but vaguely-defined Dmitri project.
