After serving through the remainder of Electronic Arts' fiscal year, international publishing executive vice president Gerhard Florin will step down from his role at the company. His departure will coincide with the end of EA's fiscal year in March 2010. According to an MCV report, the executive's decision was motivated by family concerns. Dr. Florin has held his current role since 2005, when he was promoted from president of European publishing to his post of worldwide publishing oversight. He joined the company in 1996 to oversee publishing for German-speaking countries, meaning he will have been at EA for 14 years when he takes his leave of the firm. MCV reports current European publishing head Jens Uwe Intat will retain his role, but gave no indication as to the identity of a successor to Florin.
