Publisher Eidos has announced Soul Bubbles an exclusive DS title from Mekensleep -- the new studio from former Nevrax (Saga of Ryzom) founder Olivier Lejade -- which sees players guiding lost souls to safety by blowing and manipulating bubbles through a dangerous world. Eidos says players will control a young shaman apprentice who is tasked with saving the souls via protective bubbles, by drawing and then deflating, cutting, joining, or filling the bubbles with water or gas. The publisher promises some 40 levels across eight worlds, and that the title will "push the physics capabilities of the Nintendo DS to the max." In addition to Lejade, the game reportedly saw Little Big Adventure and Alone in the Dark creator Frédérick Raynal consulting on its design early in the course of its development. Said Eidos brand manager Ray Livingston, “This will be the new phenomenon on the Nintendo DS. Every single person who has picked up this game has fallen in love with it instantly. We can’t wait to introduce the world to Soul Bubbles.”
