Representatives from the Entertainment & Leisure Software Publishers Association (ELSPA) and the Interactive Software Federation of Europe (ISFE) will be attending the 2009 Game Based Learning Conference, to be held on March 19th and 20th at The Brewery in east London, England. On March 19th, the ELSPA's director general Michael Rawlinson will present a session titled "Serious Games, Game Based Learning & ELSPA." ISFE secretary general Patrice Chazerand will head the panel discussion "Theory, Market Research and Real Life: A Case Study in Game Based Learning." "With more than 300 delegates attending this first Game Based Learning Conference we have succeeded in bringing together the key players from both the video game and education sectors into a rich discussion about the future of both industries and how they will interrelate moving forward bringing huge benefits to both," said Game Based Learning Conference director Graham Brown-Martin. Brown-Martin continues: "As part of this interactive discussion we are hosting an Industry Forum on Thursday afternoon with contributions from ISFE and ELSPA that is intended to get under the nails of the how gaming and learning are closing in on each other and what this means for the industry. For those considering how to expand and enter new markets that are resilient to current conditions, attendance at this forum is essential." The ELSPA's and the ISFE's events will discuss serious games in the educational sector. Other sessions to be held at the 2009 Game Based Learning Conference will cover serious games market trends and behaviors, video game content ratings systems, and the implementation of virtual worlds in educational environments.
