After the successful launch of the her first online workshop, "Creative Textures for 3D", which will repeat itself again in May this year, 3D artist Eni Oken announces that another online workshop is being planned for the summer of 2001. The new workshop, entitled "3D Scifi Texture for Realtime", is a workshop tailored for beginning and intermediate game enthusiasts and game artists who wish to learn how to create three dimensional-looking textures for realtime projects such as games, 3D-web environments and other realtime applications. The workshop focuses on creating industrial and sci-fi dimensional textures that are so popular in games such as Quake, Half-Life and Unreal. Each week, students will learn a new technique and will develop several textures with their own designs. The textures are suitable for creating game levels, worlds and environments. The course follows a weekly cycle where students read lecture materials, fulfill assignments and discuss the results through a state of the art UBB Discussion board. The new workshop is scheduled to start around June 5th, 2001, lasts for 5 weeks and costs US$250. In addition, students are required to have good understanding of Photoshop and some basic 3D modeling.
