Developer Monumental Games said Wednesday that it added former Codemasters CEO Nick Wheelwright to its board as non-executive chairman as the studio eyes growth. Wheelwright will be working with the Football Superstars MMO developer as the company moves forward with a recent £2 million ($3.2 million) investment from Maven Capital Partners. Monmumental is also currently working on the 3D Facebook MMO Little Horrors. Rik Alexander leads the company as CEO. Recently, Nottingham-based Monumental closed its Manchester, UK office after losing a grant. The developer also has an office in Pune, India. Alexander stated, "[Wheelwright's] experience and advice will be invaluable to the senior management team and we aim to build on what has already been a successful start to 2010." Wheelwright is currently managing director at UK-based Playground Games, which he co-founded in 2009. Codemasters recently accused him of poaching employees from the Dirt publisher in order to gain an advantage in the racing space, where Codemasters invests millions.
