According to a Reuters story, the FCC has granted approval for a wireless networking adapter for Microsoft’s Xbox game console (FCC ID C3KMN740). Microsoft has not announced the adapter, and had asked the product details revealed in the approval to be withheld until the official announcement, but an apparent clerical error posted the approval with complete details. From the details of the approval, however, it is clear that the device works in the 2.4GHz band and offers a speed of 54Mbps, which means that it operates using the 802.11g WiFi specification.
