Gamasutra is proud to present GDCTV, a special feature showcasing streaming high-quality video content of some of the notable sessions of last year's Game Developers Conference and Serious Games Summit. This session, one of the most interesting keynotes at Serious Games Summit 2005, features frenetic medical neuroscientist David Warner sharing his experience and discussing some of the work he has done in next-generation human computer interfaces, systems, and cognition in "Riding the Cutting Edge of Distributed Intelligence", explained in the conference program as follows: "The area of distributed intelligence studies the flow of information between the human and the computer. The intent of this effort is to identify methods and techniques which optimize information flow between humans and computers – something many are envious of games for. Like many proponents of serious games, Dr. Warner seeks to fundamentally change the way that humans interact with information systems. By sharing his experiences and showing us some of the work he has done in next-generation human computer interfaces, systems, and cognition that have at times involved game systems, Dr. Warner will seek to inspire people who are fighting to introduce radical new ideas and technologies into communities that for all their cutting edge effort are apprehensive of things outside the normal realm of progress." You can now access the current GDCTV streaming lecture for “Riding the Cutting Edge of Distributed Intelligence” (a brief, free registration process is required if you have not previously registered.) [PLEASE NOTE: Owing to the large number of slide images in this presentation, it may take a little longer than usual for the player to download.]
