Developer Freeverse has announced that June 18th will see the release of a "major downloadable content pack" for Marathon: Durandal, its 2007 Xbox Live Arcade port of Bungie's original first person shooter, adding new maps, modes and textures. Titled the 'Jjaro Map Pack,' Freeverse says the DLC will add 12 multiplayer levels previously seen in the Mac original Marathon and Marathon Infinity: Thrud, Vulcan, King of Pain, Spiral Insanity, Dead Fields, Morphine, La Cosa Nostra, Mars Needs Women, ‘Fugee Camp, What Goes Up Must Come Down, Arena, and Spline. The developer adds that all of the maps will support multiplayer game types new to the XBLA port including King of the Hill, Kill the Man with the Ball, and Tag. The pack will also add the “Jjaro” collection, a texture and design set originally seen in Marathon Infinity, and two new achievements exclusive to the DLC pack. The pack will be priced at 250 Microsoft Points (approximately $3), separate from the 800 Point ($10) full release of Marathon: Durandal currently available on Xbox Live Arcade.
