Former Far Cry, Crysis, and Assassin's Creed developers have come together under the recently founded Gunzilla Games, with an eye on creating a new IP in the triple-A shooter genre.

The new studio is led by former Crytek exec and investor Alexander Zoll alongside "serial entrepreneur" Vlad Korolev and, according to a press release, aims to create triple-A shooters for "the next generation of video game technologies" that "tell amazing stories without sacrificing on gameplay".

At debut, the studio has already secured $25 million in funding, which that press release notes comes from Gamegroove, a holding company Zoll and Korolev previously co-founded together.

Already, the studio has a number of devs with experience on games like Far Cry, Crysis, Assassin’s Creed, Watch Dogs, Total War, and Need for Speed on board, but Gunzilla notes it plans to use that $25 million in funding to help further staff up.
