Following its announcement that it would be moving from benchmarking apps to full games development, NaturalMotion has announced that Futuremark has licensed its morpheme animation system for the forthcoming PC game debut. Sales and marketing VP Oliver Baltuch told Gamasutra Futuremark has been building out its own game engine for the past two years, and that development of the game had been underway for a year and a half. NaturalMotion, has, of course, itself announced its own forthcoming football title Backbreaker. The company says its morpheme middleware is "designed to give developers and animators unprecedented creative control over the look of their final in-game animation by allowing them to author and preview blends, blend trees and transition graphs in real time." Said Futuremark executive producer Dr. Jukka Mäkinen, “We have progressed in the past year from creating visually stunning machinima-style benchmarks into full game development.
