The Art Institute of California, located in Los Angeles, will be opening a Game Center on January 26th. The grand opening will feature actual video games on display, as well as access to motion-capture equipment and educational material, such as magazines and DVDs, to help budding designers, programmers, and animators. The grand opening will begin at 4:00pm on the 26th, and feature guests from the industry. The Game Center will be freely accessible, making it a valuable contribution to the Art Institute's existing Game Development curriculum as well as a resource for the wider independent game development community, at least those based in Los Angeles. Partnering with the Art Institute of California for the Center are a number of tools companies, including Alias, Autodesk, Nvidia, and wondertouch. "We could not be more pleased about partnering with The Art Institute of California - Los Angeles and its new Game Center," said wondertouch president Alan Lorence. "We think the application is an ideal fit for educational environments in general, and the Game Center specifically, and look forward to future opportunities to work together."
