Event organizer Connection Events has announced, following its fifth Game Connection America event at this year's GDC, that more than 600 industry professionals held a total of 4200 meetings this year, along with several hundred visitors. Connection Events says its GDC event, held over three days for the first time, saw 158 exhibitors and more than 120 publishers and outsourcing companies in attendance, and for the first time included service sellers and buyers in addition to games industry companies. It also notes that for the first time, Postal developer Running with Scissors, Tenchu creator Acquire, and MKO Games, specializing in movie-adaptation titles, were all present at the event. In total, Game Connection saw representation from 36 countries, including Japan, Canada, France, the UK, and various Nordic countries. Said MKO's CEO Dominique Cor and COO Jean-Philippe Lahoussaye-Duvigny, "San Francisco 2008 edition was our first time at the Game Connection. We are extremely happy with the event. We expected to meet main game industry actors and it fully met our expectations. We've loved the online meeting system and we are already planning to participate to the next edition."
