Gamasutra's student and educational game site GameCareerGuide.com is currently accepting submissions for feature articles written by students and teachers. Accepted features will be published at a future date on the website. Currently, GameCareerGuide is particularly interested in seeing postmortems of student games and student-authored top ten lists. Postmortem features must include an introduction and a list of five things that went right during the project, along with five things that went wrong. Example features can be found at GameCareerGuide's postmortem archive. Top ten lists can cover a variety of topics relating to student opinions on the current state of gaming. Students who are examining the first-person shooter genre while studying could submit a "Top Ten FPS Games" article, for example, while budding level designers might submit an article entitled "The Top Ten Things I Learned While Doing Level Design." In addition, GameCareerGuide is still accepting submissions for traditional features, as previously published on our website. Example topics include student theses and general opinion pieces about game education. Opinion features from teachers are also welcome. To submit your article proposal, please send a brief, one- or two-paragraph overview of your feature to [email protected]. If your article is judged suitable, one of our editors will follow up with approval to write the full feature. All student authors of GameCareerGuide-published features will receive a free lifetime digital subscription to Game Developer Magazine as payment. GameCareerGuide's feature archive can be found here. Submissions will be accepted from all new and current GameCareerGuide site contributors. There is no deadline for entry.
