This week's GameFly video game rental charts for North America, specifically relating to games rented via the games-by-mail service for the week ending April 11th, show popularity over multiple game formats. id Software's Xbox port of Doom 3 went straight to the top of the all-formats chart, proving once again the high demand for first-person shooters on Microsoft's console. Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory got a leg up to number two in its first week, while former #1 God of War went down to #3. The SCEA-developed God of War was still at the top of the PlayStation 2-specific chart, however, followed by Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory and the stylish crazy action of Devil May Cry 3. Doom 3, naturally enough, led the Xbox charts, with Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory again taking number two and Star Wars: Republic Commando in the third slot. On GameCube, Resident Evil 4 refuses to die in its #1 position. Star Fox Armada is dogging its six, while Mario Party 6 rolled a 3. The most popular rental on the Game Boy Advance was Mario Party Advance, followed by Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap and the card-focused Disney romp Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories. On PSP, the expected crowd was in demand, with the hard-to-find Ridge Racers seeing equally brisk business in rentals, and Twisted Metal: Head On and Metal Gear Ac!d bringing up the rear. Finally, the touching story of the Nintendo DS continues with Yoshi Touch & Go and Wario Ware Touched! in 1st and 2nd place, with Rayman DS in third.
