The organizers of the Games Convention expos in Europe and Asia have announced Frank Sliwka is leaving the company, appointing Silvana Kürschner as the new strategy director of the "Games Convention Global" brand. Kürschner will report directly to Leipziger Messe CEO Wolfgang Marzin. She takes over top Games Convention executive Frank Sliwka, who will occupy the strategy director role until he leaves to head up marketing and communications company Global Games Media, as CEO, in October. GC Global will be responsible for expanding the Games Convention series of events into an "international product family". This will include the already-established expos in Leipzig, Germany and Singapore, as well as a new show currently being developed in North America. Kürschner has previously been responsible for marketing and business development for Games Convention, where she was responsible for the acquisition of guest events, the development of national and international partnerships and new product development. A new project director for the GC Developers Conference is expected to be announced in the coming weeks, and other new sales and marketing staff will also be named at the same time.
