Video game update management tool firm GameShadow has announced the appointment of Nicholas Lovell as the company's CEO. Most recently, Lovell served for three years as managing director of Lodestar Partners, a corporate finance boutique focused exclusively on the computer and video game industry. Previously, Lovell was chief financial officer of ShopSmart, a venture-backed comparison shopping engine with 60 employees. In addition, Lovell worked for eight years at Deutsche Bank, both in equity research and corporate finance. As a corporate financier, Nicholas focused on the media and technology sectors, with a strong emphasis on games. As a company, GameShadow offers a tool which allows gamers to automatically receive patches and updates for their PC games, and the firm has recently teamed with Konami (for The Regiment) and with Eidos (for multiple titles) in executing licensing deals. “Nicholas has been a great believer in our business and has been very supportive as Chairman for the past three years,” commented Tony Treadwell, founder and COO of GameShadow. “His decision to take up an executive role at the company is a powerful indication of the potential of our business, and we are delighted to have him on board.”
