Retailer GameStop will hold a promotional event it calls "Me Time Test Drive," inviting women to demo Nintendo DS systems and casual titles at over 1,500 of its locations, starting October 18th. Apparently aiming to create a more female-friendly buying environment around the handheld, GameStop employees -- and at some locations, Nintendo reps -- will be on hand to answer questions and assist attendees as they try out games like Brain Age, Crosswords DS, and Mario Kart. All events will offer scratch-off game pieces and the chance to win gift cards, but at larger marquee locations in major U.S. cities, GameStop will offer prizes and refreshments. Capping things off, GameStop hopes to incent purchases by giving away a free "designer carrying case" with new DS purchases.
