Today's wrap-up includes news on the Shadow Warrior source code and the new Tomb Raider title, as well as info on Ernest Adams' new design column. - 3D Realms, currently at work on Duke Nukem Forever, has released another bonus for its fans: the source code for Shadow Warrior, their 1997 first-person shooter. The company had previously released the source code for Duke Nukem 3D and Rise of the Triad, and the response was favorable enough for them to give up the code to another one of their older titles. The code alone (without game assets), however, is mainly of interest to programmers and developers, and those wanting to play the game for free are reminded that 3D Realms still sells the game commercially. - The first details on the new Tomb Raider game have come out, courtesy of U.S. consumer game magazine PSM. The official title is Tomb Raider Legends, and the screenshots shown display a new design for Lara Croft which makes the gaming star a touch more realistic-looking. Furthermore, series originator Toby Gard revealed that he had a small role in development toward the end of the project after joining new Lara Croft developer Crystal Dynamics, and that he expects his role in future Tomb Raider projects to be much bigger. - Also updated on Gamasutra today (free reg. req.): Ernest Adams' regular Designer's Notebook column discusses Cecropia's forthcoming game, The Act, a unique-looking adventure title which intrigues by its very alternative outlook, and there are newly advertised jobs from Insomniac, Cyan Worlds, Atari, Climax, Perpetual Entertainment, and Point Of View, Inc.
