Gaming News Round-Up: February 11th, 2005

Today's round-up includes information on PSP-compatible movie titles from Sony Pictures, as well as the crossover voice acting roster for Electronic Arts' game version of the Batman Begins movie. - Sony Pictures has announced that it will release four of its catalogue titles on Universal Media Discs after the PSP's launch. The action-heavy slate consists of XXX, Hellboy, Resident Evil: Apocalypse, and Once Upon a Time in Mexico. The four films join the limited-edition packed-in Spider-Man 2 as the only known UMD movies so far; no other production companies have yet stepped forward to announce their own offerings on UMD. The films will be released in 16:9 widescreen to take advantage of the PSP's unique screen. - Electronic Arts and Warner Brothers Interactive Entertainment have signed up almost the entire cast of Batman Begins to do voice work for EA's upcoming videogame based on the movie. Even Oscar-nominated actors such as Morgan Freeman and Liam Neeson, not to mention the Oscar-winning Michael Caine, have provided their voices alongside Christian Bale, Katie Holmes, Cillian Murphy, and Tom Wilkinson. However, notably absent from the current list of names was Ken Watanabe, who plays the Ra's al Ghul, the film's main villain.
