Today's round-up includes a new exhibition dealing with games, as well as a surprisingly large prize for a soon-to-be-launched MMO title. - New York's Museum of the Moving Image is hosting a game-related exhibition called Digital Play: Reloaded, the expansion of its previous Digital Play exhibit. Nine new games will be on display alongside the existing collection. The additions include Pac-Mondrian, a version of Pac-Man set inside Piet Mondrian's "Broadway Boogie Woogie" painting; Arcadia, which involves playing four arcade games at once; Stepmania, an independent take on Dance Dance Revolution that uses the player's own music rather than preset songs; and 2004 industry favorite Katamari Damacy. The Digital Play: Reloaded exhibition will open with a reception on March 18 at 6:30 PM. - RYL: Path of the Emperor, an upcoming MMORPG from Planetwide Games, has a tried-and-true hook to get players to adopt their game: those who preorder RYL before its release will be eligible to enter a player-vs-player tournament, the grand prize of which will be $1,000,000. Interested players can either purchase the pre-order game from regular retail stores or online from the RYL site. The tournament will begin on July 1, 2005 and end nearly a year later in April 2006; the final rounds of the tournament will be broadcast during E3 2006.
