Games Convention organizer Leipziger Messe has announced that the second Games Convention Asia will take place October 9-12, 2008 in Singapore, also announcing a new local Singapore branch office to maintain its regional presence. The event will be held alongside the October 9-10th GC Asia Conference in what the company calls "the only platform for the booming interactive entertainment industry in the Asia-Pacific region," following its inaugural 70,000 plus attendance. Organizers say the event will again take place at the Suntec International Convention & Exhibition Centre, and general manager Jorg Zeissig noted that "to enhance the cooperation with our local industry partners, we plan to open a branch office in Singapore in early 2008.“ Said project director Frank Sliwka, “GCDC and GCAC complement each other perfectly in fostering contacts between Asia and Europe and opening up new markets. We are creating the content of both conferences to be compatible and offer the latest business solutions for developers, publishers, and service providers within the game industry.” More information on GC Asia can be found at the conference's official website.
